Announcement: The posts at Ogi's journal has been locked. However, the links are included as archive references (and besides, they might've been around long enough to make their way into Google's cache).

Y'know, I'd love to sort out the difference between "meta posts on the subject" and "signal boosting." There's too much. You figure it out. Also, since I compiled these at work, many more of them are in the original journal style, 'cos I had no way to check the journal layout. Just attach ?style=mine or ?format=light to the end of the URL of anything you have trouble reading because of its layout.

It's fun work, but it would be considerably more fun if my job didn't have the entire journalsphere blocked.

I can collect links during the day (through searches & email replies), and format them for posting, but I can't go look at them.

I'd rather sort them--a section for meta, a section for signalboost, a section for macros & other funnies--but don't have time, and figure that people would rather have 60 links unsorted than 12 links selected carefully to be "most interesting." (For "most interesting," watch metafandom.)

It doesn't really matter for the entry you linked to, since the comments it got were two links that I'm pretty sure you've already gathered and one bwah-hah-hah, but for future reference, I get most of my comments on the Dreamwidth copies of my posts and a few sometimes on the LiveJournal entries that point to them (once in a while a comment at DJ or IJ).

I may try to remember. I may not. I have gathered over 100 links today, cannot promise I have even enough brain cells left for Dr. Ogas to interpret.

I knew I was catching the non-commented crossposts at times, and signal boosts that were just copies, and decided that spending an extra couple of hours sorting them was a Sisyphean effort; by the time I got done, there'd be more than I could keep up with.

I don't know if you saw--I'm truly too burned out to tell, perhaps she asked you not to post?--but shaggirl has another post. I'm angry that they got what they wanted; discouraged at the idea that we cannot do anything to avoid it; and wiped out and have to wake up in 4 hours to a full day of labs, so I'm just going to go to sleep and hope everything is better in the morning. :/

There are people working on contacting their agent & publisher. And dedicated to making sure their names are remembered... these two are fresh new PhDs with no actual jobs, and employment in the scientific realms is strongly affected by reputation. A rep for "skeevy, bad-science survey," with notes of "asking minors questions about their sex lives" has a chance of affecting their next few decades worth of income.
