[personal profile] keeva posting in [community profile] linkspam
If you want to help out, and maybe do a week or so as a Junior Archivist of the Revolution, please leave a comment here, and you'll be contacted by one of the current admins.

Linkspamming involves gathering the links by surfing around, by following links, by searching on google or IceRocket, and then posting them here to the community.

One more thing, if someone with a paid LJ account wants to make a syndication feed (such as calling it "linkspam_feed"), that would be appreciated! That way LJ users can follow along effortlessly.

Done! LiveJournal folks can follow along by subscribing to [livejournal.com profile] linkspam_feed, here. Thank you, [personal profile] cimorene!

I'm willing to help. I've contacted [personal profile] naraht through PM; she's welcome to share any of that with you.

I've got a swarm of brainstormy ideas to either discuss, or just throw at moderators for thinking about.

Debbie Reese http://debreese-nambe.livejournal.com/6020.html catches the blogger "Editorial Anonymous" complaining how racist it is that only black writers can win the Coretta Scott King award. Bingo cards abound.

Thank you for the offer. I haven't seen you around anti-racist discussions before. Have I been looking in the wrong places, or are you someone different on LJ?

...Wrong places, you say?

Oh dear. Let me try to explain what just happened. Because I think in situations like this the truth is important. *ahem*

I had joined up to follow mammoth fail, and had roughly twenty firefox tabs open. Including this post when I saw you were looking for a paid lj user to help set up a feed. In two tabs, apparently, since I saw that cimorene had graciously beaten me to it for you and closed it. At the same time, I'd been helping some acquaintances set up an anarcho-feminist comm, and so that comment above was actually... Meant for them but sent to you. Somehow.

I had, after all, not been involved in racefail09 (Or much of anything on the internet for a while now) except in some friendslocked posts/banner linking/ IM and email conversations with involved friends... So I thought just popping in to volunteer out of nowhere might have seemed odd. And I admit when I got your reply in my email I was momentarily very confused as to who you were and what I had offered you and why you were telling me you hadn't seen me around before. *smacks forehead*

So while I truly WOULD be more than willing to help collect links, and this might be a "happy accident of volunteering," I ask you to keep in mind that though I strive to be an activist and ally, I am apparently very, very flaky and there might just be no guarantee that the links I find for you won't be posted in the wrong places, though I will attempt to be more organized should you decide to accept what is now a very sincere offer that I am really making to you. *Ahem*

I meant to say I can see how just popping in to volunteer out of nowhere might have seemed odd... Oh dear. I've never accidentally volunteered for the wrong thing I'd be happy to do before, believe it or not.
