You miss out on... nothing, really. The opening line, which I quoted, pretty much covers it.

I include the hateful posts because it's useful to know who's NOT an ally, and because there's often lurkers/newcomers who think "why are people getting so angry? Of course we all hate racism and we're all trying to stop it, even when we're not very good at it."

I suspect the people in the warned posts (this one, and in the last linkset) believe they hate racism... as long as they get to define "racism." Letting the victims define it doesn't occur to them as useful.

Oh, I think it's very important to include some of the hostile spread, to get the whole picture. Not complaining about your judgment at all, only remarking on the foolishness of some of my use of the links. :)

back in the day, Rydra_Wong tended not to provide any warning for any but the most batshit insane posts, so you whipper snappers these days have it very easy.

yanno, back not so long ago when I first failed in public, some very kind person said to me; "It might seem like people are yelling at you, but that means people think you are worth yelling at. They think there's a chance in hell that you will get it."

Which was so flattering, frankly, that it gave me the impetus to dive back in and begin unpacking.

Technoelfie... not worth yelling at. There's not a chance in hell that she or her friends will get it.
