Note: My impartiality has been called into question, and a question of the comm title has been raised. I never claimed to be unbiased. However, I round up everything I can find on the topic, and while I try not to list signalboost posts, I don't intend to leave out anything substantial. (I'll include signalboosts if they've sparked interesting discussions.)

Advice on this would be welcome.
I do this for my own reasons; if what people want from [community profile] linkspam falls outside of those, I won't be willing/able to participate here. I am willing to tell people how I do this (in insane detail), have other people help, or step down if that's wanted; I'm not willing to change my methods just because someone says "you're doing it wrong!" I might be willing to change them if people convince me I'm doing it wrong; that's not the same thing.

For the record: a past argument with elf

Here is the link to [personal profile] elf's supposed "privilege check" (original post now unlocked), in which she repeatedly denies that liberal Christians are targeted with hate by conservative Christians -- right after Dr. George Tiller, a liberal Christian himself, was murdered by a conservative Christian.

She wasn't "insulted and ignored" -- she was engaged repeatedly, and was specifically asked to stop because the Tiller murder did hit hard and close to home, and refused to disengage -- despite her starting out with really messed up racial analogies (go figure) and later repeatedly blaming liberal, pro-choice, pacifist, feminist, progressive Christians for Dr. Tiller's murder. Apparently because we didn't cease to be Christians, and by failing to do so, supported the kyriarchy. When [personal profile] elf says that I am "not interested in overcoming privilege", she neglects to mention that based on her statements, the only way I could qualify to do so is to give up my religious faith.

I wasn't planning on addressing this in any way, shape, or form -- especially since it was a friendslocked post, and one I made when, like the rest of pro-choice America, I was in mourning -- but [personal profile] elf chose to make this issue public and I feel that the full story should be given here.

*nods*

If it makes any difference, I have a lot of respect for you based on posts and comments I've seen you make here and elsewhere, and it would take more than a vague reference to convince me that "she's interested in stopping what she perceives as oppressing *her.*"

See also my reply to her above.
